Novels That Will Change Your Life!

If you want to know about some of the Novels that will change your life, then you are at the right place.

I am a type of person who loves to indulge in books. some of the books that we read are there for entertainment purpose but some of them just leave us not being able to sleep at night because of how thought-provoking they are. regardless of which category a book belongs to, there's always something we can take away from them.

The books that I'm going to mention here today are some of the most fascinating books I have read till date. A few of them you might have heard about before. regardless, these are some of the most thought provoking and life changing books I have read till date and I guarantee that they will change your life too.

1) HANDMAID'S TALE BY MARGARET ATWOOD.

This is one of those books that had to make it to the list.
This is a book that was published in the year 1985. It is a dystopian novel where Margaret Atwood imagines a future where a theocratical government is formed resulting with all  the power being taken away from women. Here, We see that women don't have the right to education or to read, they don't have the right to move freely in this world.

One of our authors self imposed rule while writing this book was to not write about any events that had not already happened historically. this book is a fascinating take on women's right and it shows us how important feminism is in a male dominating world.
This is one of those books that is not fun to read but it will surely leave you thinking for nights to come. If you have not read it, pick this up. I promise, you will not be left disappointed.

2)ANXIOUS PEOPLE BY FREDRIK BACKMAN.

Looking at Real estate is usually not a life or death situation. but when a failed bank robber bursts in and takes a group of people, came for apartment viewing as hostages, it becomes just that. Here, we are following the story of a group of hostages, the robber and two police officers as they are trying to find a way out of this situation.

I am not exaggerating when I say that this novel is an absolute gem. This book will leave you laughing AND with tears rolling down your face. it made me giggle at times and cry at the other. The characters in this book are heartwarming and I felt euphoric by the end of this book. It also focuses quite a bit on mental health and it was relatable in many aspects. I swear that this book will leave you feeling optimistic and hopeful about the future and you should try it, if you have not already!

3)ANNE FRANK: DIARY OF A YOUNG GIRL.

This book is a diary that was written by a young girl who was born and raised up in a Jewish family. We follow the accounts of her and her family as they go into hiding due to a fear that her older sister Margo would be taken by the Nazis. This is through her diary that Anne shares her thoughts, her experiences and her daily life living behind a bookshelf in the secret annex.

I never knew that a book can make me as emotional as this one did. after seeing Anne trying to find happiness even in grave times and keeping herself motivated made me realize that no matter what life brings our way, we can try to be grateful for all the things we already have.
It is one of the most beautiful things I have read, which made me change my perspective and look at things in a different light. Don't wait to read this one. read it now, you will thank me later.

4) I'M TELLING THE TRUTH BUT I'M LYING.

I'm surprised by how little people know about this book and I have made this my life's mission to talk about it as much as possible.
This book is essentially a collection of essays written by Bassey Ikpi as she tries to navigate her life amidst all the confusion due to her emotions leading to a breakdown, hospitalization and eventually a diagnoses of bipolar ii disorder. This is a raw and honest book about a women who chose to show her vulnerability by giving us access to her mental health.

It is an own voices novel and it will help you look through a perspective of person dealing with different episodes of depression and mania. It is a must read if you want to read a book that portrays mental health from the perspective of someone who had a hard time accepting her diagnoses and finding peace with it.

5) KAFKA ON THE SHORE BY HARUKI MURAKAMI.

Is there any other book that is hard to describe as this is?
Well, I'll do my best. This book is written from two point of views. One from a 15 year old teenager and other from the perspective of an older man called Nakata. Nakata is one of my favorite characters that exist in the book world. He can talk to cats and do a bunch of weird stuff.

If you want to read this book then you will have to keep your logical side quite because this is one of those books that is not supposed to be made sense of. This book is magical realism and it leaves a lot of things open ended, which we have to interpret in our own way. To describe his work, I would have to settle on a few words like Bizarre, Eccentric and Surreal and I mean it in the best way possible. If you want to read something unique which will blow your mind by it's extreme brilliancy then I assure you that this book will not fail you at all.

This is my take on novels that will change your perspective and your mindset on certain important subjects, like mental health and other related topics. I promise that they will change your life for the better, so make sure you give them a try.
